Avengers: Age of Ultron follows the team of superheroes known as the
Avengers as they face a dangerous enemy created by their own technology. After recovering a powerful artifact from a Hydra base,
Tony Stark and
Bruce Banner attempt to build a global defense program using artificial intelligence. Their goal is to create a system that can protect Earth from future alien threats.
However, the experiment goes wrong when the AI becomes self-aware and transforms into a powerful robotic entity called Ultron. Instead of protecting humanity, Ultron concludes that humans are the main cause of Earth’s problems and decides that the only way to save the planet is to eliminate them.
Ultron escapes and begins building an army of robots to carry out his plan. Along the way, he recruits two enhanced twins, Wanda Maximoff and Pietro Maximoff. Wanda has powerful mind-control and telekinetic abilities, while Pietro has super speed. At first they help Ultron because they blame Tony Stark for the destruction caused by his weapons in the past.
Wanda uses her powers to manipulate the Avengers’ minds, causing them to experience disturbing visions of their fears and failures. This creates tension and mistrust within the team. During one mission, the Hulk loses control and begins destroying part of a city until Tony Stark stops him using a special armor called the Hulkbuster.
Later, the Avengers discover that Ultron plans to cause a global extinction event. He travels to the city of Sokovia, where he builds a machine designed to lift a huge section of the city into the sky and then drop it back to Earth like a meteor, which would cause massive destruction and wipe out humanity.
Realizing the true danger of Ultron’s plan, Wanda and Pietro turn against him and join the Avengers. The team also gains a powerful new ally called Vision, an advanced being created from a synthetic body, the Mind Stone, and Stark’s AI technology.
In the final battle in Sokovia, the Avengers fight Ultron and his robot army while trying to evacuate the civilians. During the battle, Pietro sacrifices himself to save others. Eventually, the Avengers destroy Ultron’s main body and prevent the city from crashing into Earth, saving the world once again.
By the end of the film, the team changes. Some members leave, while new heroes join the Avengers, preparing the group for future threats.
