At the beginning of the film, Tony Stark and Nebula are stranded in space after the battle on Titan. They are eventually rescued by Carol Danvers (Captain Marvel) and brought back to Earth. The surviving Avengers, including Steve Rogers, Thor, Bruce Banner, and Natasha Romanoff, locate Thanos and confront him. However, they discover that he has already destroyed the Infinity Stones, making it impossible to reverse his actions. In anger, Thor kills Thanos, but it does not change what happened.
Five years later, the world is still suffering from the loss of billions of people. Everything changes when Scott Lang (Ant-Man) returns after being trapped in the Quantum Realm. He explains that time travel might be possible through the Quantum Realm, giving the Avengers an idea: travel back in time to collect the Infinity Stones before Thanos obtained them.
The Avengers split into teams and travel to different moments in the past to retrieve the stones. During this mission, they revisit important events from earlier Marvel movies. Natasha Romanoff sacrifices herself so that Clint Barton (Hawkeye) can obtain the Soul Stone.
After gathering all the stones, the Avengers create a new Infinity Gauntlet. Bruce Banner uses it to snap his fingers and restore everyone who disappeared. However, the past version of Thanos discovers their plan and travels to the future with his army, launching a massive attack on the Avengers’ headquarters.
This leads to an enormous final battle where many heroes return to help fight Thanos. In the end, Tony Stark sacrifices himself by using the Infinity Stones to destroy Thanos and his army. Although the universe is saved, Tony dies from the immense power of the stones.
The film ends with the heroes honoring Tony Stark’s sacrifice. Steve Rogers travels back in time to return the Infinity Stones to their original places and chooses to remain in the past, living a peaceful life. As an old man, he passes his shield to Sam Wilson, marking the end of an era for the Avengers.
