Eternals (2021) is a cosmic superhero film produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by The Walt Disney Company. The story introduces an ancient group of powerful immortal beings called the Eternals, who were sent to Earth thousands of years ago by the Celestial Arishem to protect humanity from dangerous creatures known as Deviants.

The film begins around 5000 BC, when ten superpowered Eternals arrive on Earth. Each member possesses unique abilities, such as super strength, energy manipulation, speed, intelligence, or mind control. Their mission is simple but strict: eliminate the Deviants and help humanity evolve, while never interfering in human wars or conflicts.

Over thousands of years, the Eternals live among humans and secretly guide civilizations. During this time, they witness the rise of great empires and historical events while forming emotional connections with humanity. Some members grow to love the human race deeply, while others begin to question their creators and the true purpose of their mission.

After the Deviants are believed to be extinct, the group separates and spends centuries living normal lives across the world. However, in the present day, new Deviant attacks begin to occur, forcing the Eternals to reunite after centuries apart.

The story mainly follows Sersi, a compassionate Eternal who has been living in modern-day London. After the sudden return of the Deviants, she learns that the threat is connected to a much bigger cosmic plan involving the Celestials. As the team gathers again, they discover a shocking truth: their mission on Earth may not be what they believed for thousands of years.

This revelation divides the group. Some Eternals believe they must follow the will of the Celestials, while others decide that protecting humanity is more important than obeying their creators. This conflict leads to intense battles and emotional choices that determine the future of the planet.

Eternals expands the cosmic side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, introducing powerful cosmic entities and exploring themes such as destiny, free will, immortality, and the responsibility of god-like beings living among humans.
