Spiderman: Homecoming (2017)

Spider-Man: Homecoming takes place after Peter Parker’s first big experience with the Avengers in Captain America: Civil War. Excited by his time fighting alongside heroes like Iron Man, Peter returns to his normal life in Queens, New York, eager to prove himself as more than just a “friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.”

Tony Stark keeps an eye on Peter through his bodyguard Happy Hogan but advises him to focus on being a local hero and staying out of major threats. Peter grows frustrated, wanting bigger missions and more recognition.

Meanwhile, Adrian Toomes, also known as the Vulture, runs an illegal weapons operation. After being pushed out of a government cleanup contract following the Battle of New York, Toomes secretly salvages alien technology left behind from previous Avengers battles. He and his crew use this advanced technology to create powerful weapons and sell them on the black market.

Peter eventually discovers Toomes’ operation and tries to stop him, but his inexperience leads to several mistakes. After nearly causing a disaster on the Staten Island Ferry while trying to capture criminals, Tony Stark steps in to save everyone. Disappointed in Peter’s recklessness, Tony confiscates his high-tech Spider-Man suit, leaving Peter feeling like he has failed.

Determined to prove he is a true hero even without advanced technology, Peter tracks down the Vulture wearing his old homemade suit. In a major twist, Peter discovers that Adrian Toomes is actually the father of his crush, Liz. Despite the personal danger, Peter chooses responsibility over fear.

In the final battle, Peter confronts the Vulture near an airplane carrying stolen Avengers technology. The fight ends with Toomes’ own malfunctioning wings nearly killing him, but Peter saves his life. Toomes is arrested, but he chooses not to reveal Peter’s identity.

Impressed by Peter’s growth and maturity, Tony Stark offers him a place as an official Avenger. Peter declines, deciding to remain a “friendly neighborhood” hero and focus on being responsible in his own way.
