Thor: Ragnarok (2017)

Thor: Ragnarok (2017) is a superhero film produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by The Walt Disney Company. The movie is the third Thor film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and continues the story of the God of Thunder after the events of Avengers: Age of Ultron.

The story begins with Thor imprisoned by the fire demon Surtur, who reveals that the prophecy known as Ragnarok will destroy Asgard. After defeating Surtur and returning home, Thor discovers that his brother Loki has been impersonating their father Odin and ruling Asgard in disguise.

Thor and Loki travel to Earth to find Odin, but soon learn that Odin is dying. Before his death, Odin reveals a shocking secret: they have an older sister named Hela, the Goddess of Death. With Odin gone, Hela escapes her imprisonment and quickly proves to be far more powerful than either of her brothers.

Hela attacks Thor and Loki, destroying Thor’s hammer Mjolnir and forcing them into space. Thor crash-lands on the strange planet Sakaar, where he is captured and forced to fight as a gladiator in the Grandmaster’s arena. There he encounters an old ally—Bruce Banner, who has been stuck in his Hulk form since the events of Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Meanwhile, Hela takes control of Asgard and begins building an army to conquer the Nine Realms. Realizing the threat she poses, Thor must escape Sakaar and return to Asgard to stop her. With the help of Hulk, Loki, Valkyrie, and other allies, Thor leads a final battle to protect his home.

In the climax of the film, Thor realizes that defeating Hela directly is impossible. Instead, he chooses to fulfill the prophecy of Ragnarok by unleashing Surtur, who destroys Asgard and defeats Hela. Although their world is destroyed, Thor saves the Asgardian people and leads them toward a new future.

Thor: Ragnarok is known for its colorful cosmic setting, humor, and the transformation of Thor into a stronger leader, setting up future events in Avengers: Infinity War.
